Twice today I've heard interpolations of Hendrix's "Third Stone from the Sun" in other tunes.

Earlier I was checking out Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy", which has an interpolation of the Hendrix track as the bridge (1:17 in this version):



Interestingly, the 2007 mix changes up the melody so that it doesn't reference "Third Stone".

Just a few minutes ago, I ran across Cozy Powell's "Dance With the Devil", and check it out a minute in:



There's the Hendrix melody.

Of course, this is all documented at whosampled.com, but I thought it was an interesting enough coincidence to mention here.
